About This Call

SebArts Emerging Artist Incubator Program is designed to empower and support talented emerging artists on their journey to establish themselves as successful and sustainable artists by providing professional development. The program is open to Sonoma County-based artists, 18 years of age and older, working in any artistic discipline. Artists engaging in all creative disciplines are welcome to apply, including visual artists, literary arts practitioners, and cultural practitioners.

The 3-month program (April 1 - June 30, 2025) will accept a cohort of 6 artists who will meet for a minimum of 4 hours per week for weekly meetings and workshops, plus special events and exhibits. The program encompasses six modules: Artistic Development (studio space access, mentorship with established artists, and two exhibitions at SebArts); Branding and Marketing (headshots, website and social media support, artist statement and bio assistance, social media training, and monthly critique salons); Finances and Bookkeeping (financial literacy workshops and bookkeeping training); Developing Collector Relationships (collector panels and networking events); Exhibiting (curatorial guidance and framing workshops); and Developing Community (artist gatherings and community engagement opportunities).

Applications must include an artist narrative, work samples (minimum 2, maximum 10 images; up to 4 audio files and 4 video files), a letter of support from an individual or organization familiar with the artist's work, and a resume. Applicants may also submit up to two additional supporting documents such as press materials or marketing pieces. Applications will be reviewed based on Creative Vision, Aesthetic Excellence, and Community Engagement and Social Impact. Applicants must be available to attend regular meetings at SebArts in Sebastopol, CA. The program is generously sponsored by Creative Sonoma and the County of Sonoma.
