About This Call
The Art Student Union at Georgia State University presents EMERGE, the fourth annual intercollegiate, juried exhibition. Organized by students for students, this multimedia exhibition showcases a diverse selection of works by current undergraduate and graduate students from Atlanta-area colleges and universities.
The exhibition will be on view at Day & Night Projects from April 4 to April 27, 2019, with an opening reception on Thursday, April 4 at 7–10pm. This year's juror is Day & Night Projects, led by Co-Directors Steven L. Anderson, William Downs, and Mark Leibert. Day & Night Projects is an artist-run gallery southwest of downtown Atlanta that aims to provide opportunities for artists to exhibit in a non-commercial setting, serve as a nexus for the Atlanta artist community, and exchange exhibitions with galleries around the world.
Eligible participants are current undergraduate and graduate students from Agnes Scott College, Atlanta Technical College, Clark Atlanta University, Emory University, Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, Morehouse College, Oglethorpe University, Savannah College of Art and Design—Atlanta, Spelman College, The Art Institute of Atlanta, University of Georgia, and University of West Georgia. Entry fee is $5.00. Submissions may include up to 3 images, 3 audio files, and/or 3 video files (minimum 1 total sample required). Two-dimensional artwork must be ready to hang. Three-dimensional work must indicate whether it will rest on a podium or floor. Video- and sound-based work must come with their own equipment.
