Emerge

D'art Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in Denver's Art District on Santa Fe, invites submissions for the "Emerge" exhibition. Artists are invited to submit up to three entries exploring how they have emerged from the events of 2020. The call asks artists to consider their personal, emotional, physical, and environmental viewpoints and how their perspective, lifestyle, or relationship to the environment has changed.

The exhibition is juried by Mary Voelz Chandler, a visual arts and architecture writer formerly with the Rocky Mountain News. Four cash prizes will be awarded: Best of Show ($300) and three Honorable Mentions ($100 each), announced at the Opening Reception. The entry fee is $35 for up to three pieces. Accepted work will be exhibited from December 10, 2020 – January 10, 2021 at D'art Gallery, 900 Santa Fe Drive, Denver.

Artwork must be original, completed, and ready to hang or display. Maximum dimensions are 5 feet wide by 8 feet tall (including frame), with a maximum weight of 50 pounds. All paintings must be framed or gallery wrapped with fully painted edges. Two-dimensional works on paper must be framed. No audio-video artworks are accepted. Submissions must include 1-3 JPEG images (minimum 1920 pixels on longest side, 72 ppi, maximum 5 MB). Accepted artists are responsible for shipping and return shipping costs and insurance. Shipped work must arrive by December 5, 2020, using reusable containers only with no packing peanuts. Hand delivery is available December 5-6, 2020 during gallery hours. A 25% commission applies to any sold work. The application deadline is October 30, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. MDT through callforentry.org.
