Emerald Art Center: Emerald Spring Exhibition 2015

Emerald Spring Exhibition 2015 is a juried painting competition open to all artists residing in the United States, 18 or older. The competition will be juried from digital submissions by nationally recognized artist Eric Wiegardt AWS DF, NWS.

Qualifying media include oil, watercolor, acrylic, encaustic, or pastel—or a combination thereof. If a painting uses two or more mediums, it is considered mixed media and a statement of execution must be provided. Excluded from this competition are drawings, photography, digitally or computer enhanced work, hand-pulled prints, giclees, and reproduction prints. All artwork must be no larger than 42" in any direction (42"x42") including frame. Diptychs and triptychs must be contained in one frame that meets size requirements.

Entry fees are $35 for 2 images, $45 for 3 images, and $55 for 4 images. Artists may submit up to four images per entry, but only one entry per artist will be included in the exhibition as selected by the juror. Entry deadline is Saturday, March 7th, 2015. Artists will be notified via email on Saturday, March 21st, 2015. Accepted works must be shipped installation-ready with wire hangers (no sawtooth hangers) by the week of April 14-18, 2015, or hand-delivered Friday, April 17th and Saturday, April 18th, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. A $30 handling fee is assessed for shipped artwork and $15 for hand-delivered work, refunded if the piece sells. The exhibition runs April 28 through May 29, 2015, with an artist's reception and critique on Friday evening, May 1st, 2015. Artwork will be shipped from the gallery Monday, June 1st, 2015.

Cash prizes include Best of Show ($1500), Gold Medal ($1000), Silver Medal ($700), Bronze Medal ($500), Award of Distinction ($300), and People's Choice Award ($250), in addition to various Merit and Recognition Awards. Paintings must be for sale. Emerald Art Center retains a 35% commission. All entries are presented to the juror anonymously. Accepted work which differs significantly from the image provided will be rejected. No price changes may be made after entries are accepted. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artwork.
