Emerald Art Center Annual Fall Photography Exhibition

1st Annual Photography at the Emerald: Autumn Exhibition - 2016

Emerald Art Center, located at 500 Main Street, Springfield, OR 97477, invites photographers to submit work for this juried photography competition. The exhibition is open to all photographers residing in the United States, 18 or older. Photographers may submit 1-4 images per entry at $35 for the first image and $5 for each additional image (up to 4 images for $50). A maximum of two entries per artist will be included in the exhibition as selected by the jurors. All photographs must be no larger than 42" in any direction including frame. Diptychs and triptychs must be contained in one frame meeting the size requirements. Qualifying media include all genera of photography; if the final print includes other mediums, it is considered mixed media and a statement of execution must be provided. The final print must be at least 50% an original photo image. Photographs must be for sale, with Emerald Art Center retaining 35% commission.

The exhibition will be juried by nationally recognized photographers Susie Morrill (Chair - Photography at Oregon, Founding Member - PhotoZone Gallery, and Instructor - LCC), David Turner (Senior Instructor - University of Oregon), and Ron Jude (Associate Professor - University of Oregon). Entry deadline is Tuesday, July 12th, 2016. Artists will be notified via email on Saturday, July 23rd, 2016. Accepted photographs must be received by August 29th if shipped, or hand-delivered September 2nd and 3rd, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. Accepted artwork must be shipped "installation ready" and framed with wire hangers; canvas wraps are acceptable if they have a wire hanger on the back. A $25 handling fee is assessed for shipped artwork and $10 for hand-delivered work, refunded if the piece sells. The exhibition runs September 6th through September 30th, 2016, with an artist's reception on Friday, September 9th, 5-6 pm. Artwork will be shipped from the gallery on Tuesday, October 4th. Cash prizes include Best of Show: $1000; Gold Medal: $750; Silver Medal: $500; Bronze Medal: $250; and others to be announced. Online CAFE entries only; postal entries will not be accepted. Emerald Art Center is not responsible for artwork in transit; artists must carry their own insurance and are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance.
