Elephant In The Room

Elephant In The Room is an exhibition celebrating elephants as a source of inspiration for artists of all mediums. The gallery welcomes submissions from Colorado artists working in any medium, including sculpture, painting, photography, printmaking, installations, and group efforts. Artists are encouraged to explore the many facets of elephants, from their remarkable size and strength to their gentle intelligence and social bonds. This exhibition provides an opportunity for artists to showcase their work and contribute to an important conversation about the conservation and protection of elephants.

Submissions are open to original 2D or 3D work only. No videos, giclee prints, or AI-generated work are accepted. All artwork must be for sale and created by the artist or as an independent group effort. Artists must be over 18 years old. The entry fee is $38.00 for 1 to 3 entries. Submissions must include good quality photo images and a statement about the artist's work.

2D work must be ready to hang with secure wire on the back (no zigzag or triangular hangers) and can be no larger than 48 inches wide by 72 inches long with or without frame. Unframed paintings on canvas or board must have at least a 1.5 inch border. 3D work must not exceed 50 pounds total; wall-hung 3D work cannot exceed 25 pounds. Pedestal-displayed 3D work should be no larger than 24 by 24 inches at the base. All 3D work must be sturdy and able to stand alone. All artwork must be well executed, clean, dry, and ready to display. Artists are solely responsible for delivery to and pickup from the gallery—no shipping is accepted. Art must be brought to the gallery at 915 Santa Fe Drive, Denver. Entry deadline: March 25, 2023. Exhibit dates: April 7 - June 3, 2023. Accepted artists will be notified March 31. Drop-off: Tuesday, April 4, 11am-3pm. Artists reception: Friday, April 21, 5-8pm. Pickup: Sunday, June 4, 1-4pm.
