About This Call
Siy Gallery invites artists to submit work for the "Elements of Nature" group exhibition, which runs November 1 to December 1, 2021. The exhibition focuses on artwork that raises awareness of issues surrounding mental illness and de-stigmatization. Ten artists will be selected to exhibit, and the jury will select one winner from the top ten to have a future solo exhibition for five pieces. Selected artists will have options to work with the gallery and be part of their artists circle.
Eligibility is open to all artists residing in the U.S. Submissions must be original artwork produced in the last two years with subject matter relating to the exhibition theme. Accepted work includes 2D and 3D pieces, with size restrictions: 2D work no larger than 40" x 40" and 3D work no taller than 7 feet. The entry fee is $25.00. Submissions must include a high-quality photo of the piece, artist name, artwork title, and a narrative of 100 words or less about the piece in relation to mental health. Vulgar, pornographic, or profane images will be disqualified.
Artist notification is October 27, 2021, with artwork delivery required between October 27 and October 31, 2021. The opening reception is Saturday, November 20, 6pm-9pm with winner announcement. Selected artists grant Siy Gallery the right to publish images for publicity purposes and promotion on their website and social media. The top ten artists will be promoted on the gallery's website, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media. For accepted work sold through the gallery, the payment split is 50% to the artist, 40% service fee to Siy Gallery, and 10% to nonprofit California Clubhouse of San Mateo. Artists retain copyright to all work. Siy Gallery assumes no liability for damage to artwork during transport, storage, or exhibition; artists may provide their own insurance.
