Eighth Annual NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Exhibition

The Eighth Annual NorthStar Watermedia National Juried Exhibition is open to all artists 18 years or older living in the contiguous United States. The exhibition will be held August 28 - November 3, 2022 at the Benedictine Center at St Paul's Monastery, 2675 Benet Road, St Paul, Minnesota 55109. The Art Gallery is open daily from 10am to 4pm. Masks and proof of vaccination are required.

Entries are accepted until midnight June 28, 2022. Entry fees are $40 for NorthStar Watermedia Society members or $55 for non-members, with up to three images per entry. Submissions must be paintings in watercolor, acrylic, casein, gouache, water-soluble ink, or egg tempera on paper, yupo, canvas, canvas board, or board. Work must be wholly original, suitable for a family audience, and may not have been exhibited in any previous NorthStar exhibition. Maximum size is 42" in any direction with a maximum depth of 3" including the frame. All paintings must be framed or mounted (except gallery-wrap canvas or cradled Ampersand) with neutral, subdued framing and off-white matting. Paintings must be wired for hanging on vertical sides; sawtooth hangers are not allowed. All insurance is the responsibility of the artist.

Tara Sweeney, an award-winning artist and art professor emeritus with Augsburg University, serves as the exhibition juror. Acceptance notifications will be sent July 20, 2022. An artists' reception and award ceremony will be held Sunday, September 18th, 2-3:30pm. NorthStar Watermedia Society will award a minimum of $3,000 in cash plus non-cash prizes.
