EDGE Gallery Seeking New Members

EDGE Gallery is seeking 5 new full member artists for its gallery space located in Prism Workspaces, 999 Vallejo, Denver. As a contemporary, non-profit, co-op art gallery, EDGE is dedicated to experimental and contemporary artists interested in pushing the boundaries of their medium and subject matter with a coherent body of work. MFAs, BFAs, and artists with non-traditional backgrounds and a demonstrable track record in any visual art medium are welcome to apply, from new graduates to experienced artists working in conceptual installations, painting, sculpture, new media, and other forms.

Full Membership costs $75/month and includes one solo show per year in half of the main gallery, participation in group shows, publicity in local media and social media, and membership in a supportive community of artists. Members must fulfill required sitting hours per year (determined by membership numbers), attend at least 9 monthly meetings per year, and hold a gallery job on one of the committees (PR, community show, building, website, social media, etc.). Shared Full Membership is available for two to three artists applying together who split the $75/month dues and allotted space. Upon acceptance, members must pay 2 months dues and a $5 refundable key deposit. Meetings are held the last Sunday of each month at 10:30 a.m.

Applicants should submit 3-10 images, artist statement, bio/resume, brief description of work, explanation of why they want to join EDGE, and skills they can contribute. Wordpress/social media, Mailchimp, and marketing skills are a plus. All finalists will be invited to present their work in-person before the EDGE membership, with 10 minutes to present images and/or actual work. Interviews and presentations are scheduled for the last Sunday morning of each month before regular business meetings, with a final deadline of September 24, 2017, or until membership reaches 20 members.
