Earth, Fire and Fibre Biennial Juried Exhibition

A biennial juried applied art exhibition established more than 25 years ago to encourage the creation of new works by Alaska artists in clay, glass, metal, wood, fiber, skin, bone or stone. The juror is Andrew Glasgow, retired Executive Director of the American Craft Council.

Only artists residing in Alaska are eligible. Each artist may submit up to 8 images of four entries for a non-refundable $25 entry fee. All works must have been completed within the last two years. Copies and work done under instruction are ineligible. Entries may be submitted only by the artist or their agent.

Deadline for digital entries is July 1, 2013. Entries selected for Phase II judging (first round juried by digital entries only; final selections made by viewing actual work) must be delivered to the Anchorage Museum by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. All entries must be ready for installation or framed and ready to hang. Any framing device which does not cover glass edges will not be considered. Framed artwork with dimensions larger than 24" x 30" should be covered with plexiglass. The Museum will not be responsible for damages to larger works framed under glass. Notification of selections will be sent August 1, 2013. Cash awards and honorable mentions will be given.
