About This Call
Earth & Fire 2025 is an exhibition of ceramic works held at the Stifel Fine Arts Center in Wheeling, West Virginia. The exhibition runs February 22 - March 29, 2025, with an opening reception on February 22, 2025 from 6:30-8:30pm. This event is part of Ceramics Take Over Wheeling, a 4-day celebration featuring workshops, artist talks, 8 art openings, and a Pottery Throwdown (February 20-23). Lodging packages are available.
Artists may submit up to 2 clay works completed within the last two calendar years. Works must be original, not previously exhibited at the Stifel Fine Arts Center, and must be for sale (the center retains a 30% commission). The entry fee is $35 for up to 2 pieces. Submit high-resolution images (300 dpi) online through CAFÉ by December 8, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. Mountain Time. Jurors will be notified the week of December 16, 2024.
Accepted works may be hand-delivered (January 25 - February 4, 2025) or shipped (January 6-31). Return shipping is the artist's responsibility; a return shipping label must be included with shipped work. Works left unclaimed after April 12, 2025 become the property of the Stifel Fine Arts Center. Jurors are Rebecca Harvey (Executive Director of The Archie Bray) and Sunshine Cobb (Resident Coordinator at The Bray). Awards include: 1st prize $4,000 plus solo exhibit and paid workshop in 2026; 2nd prize $1,500; 3rd prize $1,000; and two merit awards of $250 each. Open to visual artists 18 years and older residing in the US. For questions, contact Rick Morgan at [email protected] or 304-242-7700.
