Earth Devised: A Juried National Exhibition of Ceramic Artworks

Earth Devised is a nationally juried exhibition of ceramic artworks highlighting the diversity of the ceramic medium in both surface and decoration. Ceramic works must be unique in at least one of the following areas: Design, Pattern, Color, or Texture. The exhibition is open to all functional, non-functional, 2D & 3D artworks in ceramic medium. Works may be wall hanging, however, they must hang by use of a wire.

The exhibition will take place in The Vault, a historical bank vault within the d'Art Center that creates an intimate and close-up experience for patrons. This competitive call will accommodate approximately 25 works. The exhibition will be in-person and also featured digitally on d'Art Center's archival site. The exhibition runs Saturday, August 3rd - Saturday, August 31st, 2024, with a reception on Thursday, August 8th, 2024, 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. The exhibition will be curated by d'Art Center Gallery Director Amanda Bradley. The best in show award ($500) will be chosen by group consensus among d'Art Center's professional artists and staff members.

Entry fee is $30 for 3 submissions (one image per submission). Additional submissions up to 10 works are $5 each. Minimum image submission requirement is 3 images; maximum is 10. For 3D works, create a tile image to show multiple sides or use additional image slots for detail images. Accepted works must arrive by 5pm Saturday, July 27th, 2024. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the gallery. Works must include pre-paid return labels through FedEx or UPS. Works should be shipped in reusable containers without packing peanuts. Hand deliveries are accepted by pre-arrangement. Notifications will be sent by email by 5pm Wednesday, July 3rd, 2024. Gallery commission on sales is 60/40 (60% artist, 40% d'Art Center). Artist statements must be 555 characters or less and free of grammatical errors.
