About This Call
This residency offers a one-time stipend of $3,700 awarded at the beginning of the residency for travel or delivery of the artist's work. The remainder is to be spent as the artist sees fit. The artist does not have to be present in Idaho during the residency, but one visit to deliver the artwork is required. If an in-person visit cannot be accomplished, delivery through mail is allowed with a one-time Zoom conference where the artist will present and discuss the exhibition. This visit will be arranged between the artist and Deep Yellow Fine Arts.
The residency is flexible and accommodates individual preferences. Artists may offer classes to the community, remain in town to create artwork, or arrange other options. The gallery is 4,000 sq/ft with two large rooms, one hallway spanning 40+ feet, and one small room with a large glass window. Glass windows line the two outside gallery spaces. The size and scope of the exhibition is completely up to the artist. Artists are asked to donate one piece of work of any size to the gallery.
The gallery seeks paintings, pottery, photography, ceramics, glass, or sculpture. When applying, include examples of work similar to your intent, or if unavailable, submit your current work. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older. The application requires: artist website and social media (optional), statement of intent including residency plan and project description, description of how artwork is achieved, 1-5 examples of previous or intended work (JPGs), three words describing yourself, artist statement, and CV. Entry fee is $40.00. Up to 2 applications per artist are allowed.
