EAFA Open Juried Abstract Show

The Evergreen Association of Fine Arts (EAFA) invites artists to submit work for the Open Juried Abstract Show, running January 6 - February 26, 2017 at EAFA Gallery in Kirkland, Washington. Over $1,200 in awards will be presented, including First Place ($400), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($200), plus additional awards. The juror is Katya Palladina.

Eligibility and Requirements: Entries must be original 2D or 3D artworks, including photography, created within the last two years and priced to sell. Work must remain on display for the duration of the show. All 2D art must be at least 12" x 12" and not exceed 36" in any direction (not including frame). Artists may submit up to two pieces; up to two may be accepted. Entries must be submitted online only in JPEG format (72 ppi, 1920 pixels minimum on longest side, medium compression). Artwork titles must be 25 characters or less. All submitted art must be dry, finished and ready to display. 2D art must be ready to hang with wire and D-rings attached; no exposed glass edges, uniframes, clip frames, frames in disrepair, saw-tooth hangers, exposed staples or unfinished edges. 3D art can be tabletop or free-standing. Artists with bulky, heavy, or specially-mounted work must be present to assist with installation.

Fees and Deadlines: Entry fee is $30 for one artwork or $35 for two pieces. Online entry begins November 1, 2016; deadline is November 30, 2016 at 11:00 p.m. PST. Artists will be notified by email on December 5, 2016. Accepted artwork must be received by Phoenix Art Restoration and Framing by December 30, 2016. Phoenix charges a $45 service fee per accepted work; artists are responsible for all shipping costs and handling fees. Hand delivery of artwork is available January 4, 2017 (9-11 a.m.). The reception and awards ceremony is January 14, 2017 (5-8 p.m., awards at 7 p.m.). EAFA collects a 25% sales commission on all sales, or 10% on commissioned works. Artists assume all liability for their work and should insure accordingly.
