About This Call
Studio Channel Islands invites 3D and 2D artworks that are energized by motion. This can be interpreted literally, as through kinetic sculpture, and/or visually, through the illusion of movement. The exhibition seeks works that are active, lively and vigorous, as well as those that more quietly explore the essence of motion. DYNAMIC will be exhibiting alongside photographer Rob Shanahan.
Submissions must be original artwork. The exhibition will not accept video, film, performance art, installation, or works requiring an external electrical source. Entry fee is $47.00 for non-members or $35.00 for members with code. Artists may submit 1-10 images. Juror: Matthew Furmanski.
Awards: Juror's Awards for three works with cash prizes of $500 (1st Place), $200 (2nd Place), and $100 (3rd Place). Exhibition dates: March 3-31, 2016. Opening reception: March 5, 2016, 4-6 PM. Artist notification: February 20, 2016. Artwork drop-off: March 1, 2016, 11 AM-5 PM. Pick-up day: April 1, 2016, 11 AM-5 PM.
