Durango Arts Center 33rd Annual Juried Exhibition

This competition is open to all artists working in traditional and new 2- and 3-dimensional media including video (installations excluded) residing in the United States. Entrants must be at least 18 years of age. Works must be original, fabricated within the last two years, and may not have been shown previously at the Durango Arts Center. All works must be for sale.

Artists may submit up to 3 entries. Entry fees are nonrefundable: 1 entry/$20, 2 entries/$30, and 3 entries/$40. Discounted entries are available for DAC members. Submissions must be entered through WESTAF's online application process at www.callforentry.org. Video or time-based media applicants may submit a .jpg image still or placeholder, with DVD media mailed to the DAC (802 East 2nd Ave, Durango, CO 81301) postmarked by April 30, 2009. Professional photos are encouraged.

The timeline includes: entry deadline April 30; artist notification via email May 11; works due by shipment June 1; hand delivery June 2, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; opening reception and awards June 5, 5–7 p.m.; and work pickup June 29, 9 a.m.–1 p.m. All work must be dry and ready to display, properly framed and wired for hanging. Awards totaling approximately $800 will be awarded by the juror. The DAC will retain a 40% commission on all artwork sold during the exhibition. Artists pay for shipping to and from the exhibition. DAC provides insurance for artworks while on premises and is not responsible for damage or loss during transport.
