Driven To Abstraction

Driven To Abstraction is an exhibition open to artists worldwide. All mediums are welcome, including mixed media, collage, fiber, oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, photography (film and digital), drawings in charcoal, color pencil or graphite, and sculptures in permanent materials such as bronze, marble, terra cotta, fiberglass, resin, wood, and paper mache. Giclée prints of original art, non-photographic art, and AI-generated work will not be accepted. Work must have been completed in the last 3 years and must not have been previously shown at SebArts Gallery. Maximum of 3 pieces per artist. Wall-hung work may not exceed 5 feet height by 4 feet width.

Entry fee is $35 per entry plus a $5 media fee. Submit 1-3 images per piece (JPEG format, 5MB or less). Each piece can have one main image and up to two additional images showing perspective or detail. Include dimensions and weight with submissions. Artists will be notified of acceptance by January 6, 2025. The exhibition runs February 6 - March 16, 2025.

Shipped work must arrive by January 31, 2025 at SebArts, 282 S. High St, Sebastopol, CA 95472. Hand-delivered work must be dropped off Sunday, February 2, 2025 (10AM-1PM) or Tuesday, February 4, 2025 (10AM-1PM). Artists are responsible for all shipping costs. Unsold work will be shipped within 15 days after the exhibition closes. Awards: 1st place $300, 2nd place $200, 3rd place $100, two $50 coordinator awards. Artists receive 60% of sales price for work sold during the exhibition; sales to gallery visitors within 60 days after the exhibit closes require 40% payment to SebArts. Juror: Carl Heyward, an American contemporary artist and NEA Fellow.
