Driftless: A Curated Exhibition

Driftless: A Curated Exhibition is a curated group show at the Slaggie Family Lobby Art Gallery in the Winona County History Center. The exhibition runs from December 6, 2025 through February 27, 2026.

Artists must live within 100 miles of Winona, MN, or reside in a county in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, or Iowa that is partly or wholly within the Driftless region. Visual arts media are accepted including painting, drawing, printmaking, digital art, collage, sculpture, ceramics, textile, stained glass, jewelry, and more. Installation, video, works with audio, and digitally displayed entries cannot be accommodated. Two-dimensional entries are limited to 24"W x 60"H; three-dimensional entries are limited to 24" x 24" x 48"H. Works must be completed within the past two years and not previously displayed at the Winona County History Center or in a River Arts Alliance exhibition. Hanging works must be framed and ready to hang with a hanging wire on the back.

Each submission must include a brief Artist's Statement (up to 100 words) describing how the work connects to the Driftless theme. Curatorial selections will be based on connection to the Driftless theme, quality of artwork and craftsmanship, and adherence to requirements. Artists may enter one work. Entry fee is $10 for River Arts Alliance members and $15 for non-members. Submissions are made through ArtCall and must be received by 11:00 PM on November 9, 2025. Notification of acceptance is November 24, 2025. Artists are responsible for delivery and pickup of their work. Work delivery is December 4, 2025 (noon–3 pm); de-installation and pickup is February 28, 2026 (noon–3 pm). Artists are encouraged to make their work available for sale; the artist receives 70% of the sales price, the History Center receives 20%, and River Arts Alliance receives 10%.
