About This Call
The Dresher Ensemble Artist Residency awards 6 residencies annually to early and mid-career artists—either individuals or groups collaborating on a single project. The program supports time-based work in theater, performance, dance, movement, music, sound art, instrument invention, and interdisciplinary collaboration.
Each residency provides full 24/7 access for 1-4 weeks in the rehearsal studio (40' x 42' sprung dance floor with Marley floor covering, 20' ceilings, and two 9' concert grand pianos) and fabrication shop. Residency weeks may be contiguous or spread out over several months. Residents also receive access to state-of-the-art equipment including sound, lighting, projection, and recording capabilities; a production stipend (currently up to $1500); technical, financial, marketing, and managerial consultations; fiscal sponsorship if needed; and performance opportunities with shared revenues.
Applications for 2026/27 residencies are due April 6, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Applicants are strongly encouraged to review program priorities before applying. Information sessions are available on March 18, 2026 at 7 PM (Zoom), March 21, 2026 at 7 PM (Zoom), and March 25, 2026 at 1 PM (in-person at the studio).
