About This Call
Drawn In is an international juried exhibition opening February 21, 2026, at the Rhode Island Art League, curated by Sarah Hardesty and Amanda Jirón-Murphy. The exhibition invites artists to submit drawings with the broadest possible definition of the term, welcoming fully finished drawings as well as sketches. The mediums will vary, as will size and degree of finish. Perhaps the drawing is an excerpt from a sketchbook, or it could be the remnants of a performance that indicate where the body has been in space. Maybe the drawing is made with paint.
The exhibition welcomes works that might not be thought of as traditional drawing and that make use of unorthodox materials, challenging notions of what drawing can be, how it can be made, and what it could be made of. Awards include First Place ($500), Second Place ($300), Third Place ($150), and two Honorable Mentions. Submission deadline is January 10, 2026, with notifications sent January 15 and work delivered by February 10.
Entry requirements include 1-5 images of artwork with title, year, medium, dimensions, and price, plus a 100-word bio and 200-word artist statement. Entry fee is $35 for the first piece and $10 for each additional piece (up to 5 total) for non-members, with reduced rates available for Art League RI members. All 2D and 3D media are eligible, and artwork must be original, exhibition-ready, and appropriate for all ages.
