Drawing From Perception, Invention, and Memory

Drawing from Perception, Invention, and Memory is a national juried drawing exhibition highlighting the finest contemporary examples of drawing. The exhibition is open to all artists living in the United States 18 years of age or older. Applicants may submit a maximum of three images for consideration. The entry fee is $30.00.

Works will be selected by nationally renowned artist and painter Eve Mansdorf, who received her MFA in Painting from Brooklyn College and her BA in Psychology from Cornell University. She teaches Painting at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and is known for large paintings of figures in interiors, still lifes, and on-site paintings that draw from the landscape and neighborhood in Bloomington where she lives.

Accepted works must be sent ready to install and must arrive by Friday, December 1, 2023. Work that differs significantly from the juried image will be excluded from the exhibition. Shipped work arriving damaged or not ready to hang will not be exhibited or repaired. Artists are responsible for all shipping costs to and from the gallery. Accepted works may be hand delivered to the Stein Galleries during normal operating hours. The Stein Galleries will insure artwork for stated value while the work is on the premises. Individual artists are responsible for insuring their work during transit. Several cash awards of distinction will be given, selected by the juror. The exhibition runs January 16 – March 8, 2024. Notification of accepted work will be provided by October 16, 2023.
