About This Call
The Orion Art Center proudly presents the 16th Annual Dragon on the Lake Festival (DOTL), held annually on the last weekend in August in Downtown Lake Orion. The festival serves as the nonprofit Orion Art Center's largest fundraiser and brings together dozens of organizations, hundreds of volunteers, and thousands of participants. From Lighted Boat Parade, Dragon Boat Races on Lake Orion, Artist Market, Little Dragon Den, Chalk Art Contest, Tiki Tent, Dragon Pub, live music and entertainment, there's something for everyone.
The DOTL Artist Market is juried with 100 booth spaces available in 4 categories: Art + Craft Fair (original handmade work only), Vendor Marketplace, Non-profit Organizations, and Food Trucks. Only original work handmade by the displaying artist is eligible for sale in the Art + Craft Fair category, including mediums such as ceramics, digital media, drawing, fiber, folk/traditional arts, glass, jewelry, leather, metalwork, mixed media, painting, papermaking/book arts, photography, printmaking, sculpture and woodwork. Items must be at least 60% made by the vendor.
The festival runs Saturday, August 23, 2025 (10:00 AM - 7:00 PM) and Sunday, August 24, 2025 (10:00 AM - 6:00 PM). Application fee is $25 non-refundable. Upon acceptance, booth fees are $225 when paid by May 1, 2025 and $250 after May 1, 2025, with all fees due by August 10, 2025. Food Truck booth fee is $500. Applicants will be notified of jury selection no later than 30 days before the event. Emerging artists are accepted.
