About This Call
American Craft Endeavors, Florida's leading producer of juried street craft festivals for over 40 years, is accepting applications for the Downtown Venice Craft Festival. The event takes place on Miami Avenue in Downtown Venice, FL, a prime downtown location surrounded by shopping and dining establishments.
The festival runs Saturday and Sunday, 10am-4pm, with setup on Saturday. Booth spaces available are 10x10, 10x15, and 10x20. Public admission is free with no gate fee. Daytime parking is available for RVs and standard vehicles, and overnight security will be onsite. All tents must be white and displays must be professional and aesthetically pleasing. The booth fee is $425.00, paid directly to American Craft Endeavors (not through Zapp). A $50 deposit may be made if the event is more than 30 days away, with the balance due no later than 30 days prior to the event. A $30 late fee applies if balance is not paid by the deadline.
Applications are juried in order of date received. Applicants should apply early as the show and categories may reach maximum capacity. The jury meets weekly and applications typically take 2-4 weeks to process. To apply, submit 3 images of work, 1 image of a 10x10 outdoor display with white canopy tent, a biography or website, and a $20 non-refundable jury fee. Artwork must be original, handcrafted, and directly created by the approved artist or through collaboration between two artists. One medium only per booth is permitted. The use of kits, imported goods, or mass-produced items is prohibited. Limited offset prints, giclees, and reproduced work are allowed if clearly labeled. Exhibitors must be present throughout the event and cannot sublet or share space.
Exhibitors selling food for human or pet consumption and those selling products applied to skin (soap, skin care, etc.) must have a one million dollar product liability insurance policy naming Howard Alan Events, Inc. and American Craft Endeavors as co-insured. Cancellations made at least 30 days prior to the show receive a show credit good for 2 years; cancellations within 30 days are liable for the full balance. American Craft Endeavors will promote the event through the Sarasota Herald Tribune, WLTQ FM, Venice Gondolier, Venice Weekly, and Comcast Cable. Contact [email protected] or (561) 746-6615 with questions.
