About This Call
The 61st Annual Downtown Bethlehem Fine Art and Craft Show will take place on Mother's Day Weekend, May 9th-10th, in historic downtown Bethlehem PA. Bethlehem's downtown streets are lined with upscale shops and restaurants, and the city attracts an affluent crowd of shoppers. Mother's Day weekend in the historic downtown shopping district is especially busy with gift-buyers and art patrons. The show is sponsored by the Bethlehem Fine Arts Commission, which will award over $1300 in prizes at the artists' reception following the show on Saturday May 9th. Street music, a children's fine art site, and an artist-in-residence add to the ambience of the weekend and bring additional buyers to the show.
This is a juried show accepting approximately 50-90 fine artists and craft artisans. All works must be original and created by the applying artist. Objects made from commercial kits or commercially available plans are not acceptable. The majority of exhibited works must be originals and not commercially reproduced prints. Artists may show work only in the category for which they were juried and accepted. The show runs 10:00-5:00 Saturday and 11:00-5:00 Sunday, with an artists' reception Saturday evening featuring complimentary wine and hors d'oeuvres.
Fees include a $20 non-refundable application fee and $170 booth fee due upon acceptance. Awards include Best of Show $600, Second Prize $400, Third Prize $250, and Best Display $100. Booth spaces accommodate 10' x 10' tents on pavement, with artists providing their own tents and display fixtures. Each artist receives one parking pass for downtown garages. Artists must be present for the entire show, and all work must be priced and for sale. The show will be held rain or shine.
