Downtown Austin | Gallery Open Call

Dama Gallery opened their dynamic Texas location in 2021 in the East Sixth neighborhood in Downtown Austin. Positioned in the district that hosts the prestigious SXSW Festival, the gallery contributes to Austin's burgeoning arts scene and serves as a cultural cornerstone amidst the area's honky-tonks, dive bars, and iconic music venues.

Entries are reviewed weekly and selections are made throughout the month. Exhibition lengths vary from 1 to 3 months, with the number of pieces depending on the artist's medium and sizes of selected work. Featured artists are invited and encouraged to personally attend receptions. A selected few may be invited for a recorded artist interview and/or panel discussion about their exhibit. Artists selected for exhibition will also be considered for representation by Dama Gallery, which includes priority consideration for future exhibitions, ongoing professional consultation and portfolio assistance, marketing and promotional assistance, online market inventory, and website profile.

All artwork must be original and unsold, with the artist owning sole copyright. Accepted media includes painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Submissions should include at least 3 images (minimum 3, maximum 20), biography, and artist statement. Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with additional images at $5 each. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Dama Gallery retains a 50% commission on sales. Sales remittance occurs 5-7 business days post-exhibition and/or upon buyer payment finalization. Artworks are listed on Artsy, the gallery's online sales platform partner.
