DownEast National Juried Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition 2023-2024

The DownEast National Juried Outdoor Sculpture Exhibition is located in Pitt County, North Carolina. The exhibition has two components: a month-long indoor exhibition and a year-long outdoor exhibition. The outdoor sculpture exhibition is a joint exhibition among Pitt County Arts Council at Emerge, ECU Student Activities Board, City of Greenville, Town of Winterville, Town of Farmville, Town of Ayden, Wahl-Coates Elementary School for the Arts, and the Greenville Museum of Art.

This exhibition is open to all artists ages 18 and up. Each artist may submit up to 3 entries for $20, with additional entries at $5 each (maximum 6 total). Work should be large scale to fit one of the sculpture pads in various locations throughout Pitt County, ranging from 4'x5' to 10' round in diameter. Artists must be available to install and remove their own work. All work must remain on exhibit from the end of February 2023 through the end of February 2024 and must be able to be exhibited outdoors using exterior grade materials. Liability insurance may be required for the City of Greenville location. Work will be insured by the presenting entities for 70 percent of the sales price for exhibition dates only. Emerge Gallery will retain a 30% commission.

Accepted artists will be notified during December 2022. Honorariums of $1,200 will be awarded to selected sculptures. Additional prizes include 1st Place: $1,500, 2nd Place: $750, and 3rd Place: $500. All entries must be submitted digitally as JPGs by November 19, 2022. Juror: D.
