About This Call
Kenektid X Gallery invites illustrators, painters, and photographers based in the US (age 18 or older) to participate in "Dog Days - Art to the Rescue," an open call exhibition. Fifteen artists will be selected and featured in the exhibition from October 17-19, 2019, with an opening reception on October 17th. The gallery is located in Manhattan near Times Square.
The exhibition supports Korean K9 Rescue (KK9R), a non-profit dog rescue organization. A portion of the $35 entry fee will be donated to KK9R. The exhibition is part of the 16th annual Garment District Art Festival and will be advertised through brochures, posters, email invitations, and the festival website. Submissions must feature 1-5 strong images with a theme of rescued or adopted dogs. All artwork must be original, 2-dimensional, and framed or unframed canvas with finished edges. Minimum size is 6"x6"; maximum is 18"x24". Photographs and digital prints must be printed on quality paper at 300dpi resolution. Submit images in JPEG format (72 dpi, 1920 pixels on long side, not exceeding 5MB) with file names formatted as: first initial_last name_title. Include artist name, artwork title, medium/dimensions, and a description with stories about the dogs depicted.
Selected artists will be notified on October 2nd and must ship artwork by October 15th. Artists receive 60% of sales proceeds; Kenektid X Gallery handles all sales and sales tax with payment within 30 days of exhibition close. Selected artists whose work is included in an artbook published by Kenektid Inc. will receive a copy. The first-prize winner's artwork will appear on the book cover. Thirty percent of artbook profits will be donated to KK9R.
