Divulge: A National Exhibition Featuring the Use of Art for Therapy, Coping, & Mental Health Awareness

Divulge is a national juried exhibition featuring both 2D and 3D artworks from across the United States that highlight self-expression, are created in art therapy, and/or raise awareness of mental health. Original works in all media, traditional or non-traditional, are welcomed and include both freestanding and wall-mounted two and three-dimensional works. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 or older residing in the United States. All work must be original, created without the aid of an instructor or kit, and produced within the last eight years.

The exhibition will be held at the d'Art Center in Norfolk's NEON District from Saturday, September 5th through Saturday, October 3rd, 2020. The opening reception takes place Thursday, September 17th, 2020 from 5:30-9:00pm as part of the 6th Annual NEON Festival. The exhibition is co-curated by gallery manager Amanda Bradley and exhibition juror Matthew Bernier, MCAT, ATR-BC, a board-certified art therapist and Associate Professor in the Graduate Art Therapy and Counseling Program at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

Artists may submit up to 3 artworks for consideration with a $35.00 entry fee (one image per submission). Work cannot exceed 40 pounds or be longer than 48 inches in its longest dimension. Awards include 1st Place ($500), 2nd Place ($300), and 3rd Place ($150). Accepted works must arrive by August 31st, 2020. Artists are responsible for shipping costs and must provide pre-paid return labels through UPS or FedEx. Notifications will be sent by email by 5pm on Monday, August 17th, 2020.
