Diversity Unveiled: An American Mosaic - National Juried Artist Call

"Diversity Unveiled: An American Mosaic" is a juried exhibition at the historic Cooper House Mansion that brings together diverse artistic perspectives and interdisciplinary conversations stimulated by Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) research, trends, and shortfalls. The exhibition aims to showcase how art can serve as an instrument of social discourse and contribute to a more inclusive future. Curated by artist and American Studies scholar Gerald Lovato and juried by American artist Eric "Christo" Martinez, the exhibition will feature work that is displayed, discussed, debated, and celebrated by the university community.

Diverse mediums are welcome, including 2D visual art (painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media), performance art, film and video, spoken word and music, and installation and interactive art. The exhibition runs from April 5, 2024 (opening) through April 21, 2024. Prizes include Best of Show ($650), Second Place ($250), and Third Place ($100).

Eligibility: Artists must be 18 years or older and able to ship artwork. Application requirements include work samples (1-6 total: minimum 1 image, up to 6 images, audio, or video), resume/CV, artist statement, and a brief biography of no more than 500 words. Artists may apply with up to 3 different artistic disciplines. Entry fee is $30. Submission deadline is March 15, 2024 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
