About This Call
digm art features is a contemporary art program located in an 8,800 square foot gallery space directly across the street from the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Denver at 1515 Delgany Street, Denver, CO 80202. Selected artists will receive 100% of sales of their art, have their work featured two weeks per year, and maintain a year-round permanent presence in the Art Viewing Collections. The space includes a Contemporary Art Reading Room displaying over 100 magazines from around the world with guided art lectures each month, plus a coffee/wine bar adjacent to the exhibition space.
All artists working in all mediums from anywhere in the world are welcome to apply, as are select galleries and creative professionals such as architects and designers. A section will be devoted to emerging artists and artists from Colorado. The application requires contact information, artist statement, biography, and a portfolio of 5-20 electronic images of work created in the past 5 years. The $50 application fee does not guarantee selection. If selected, artists must pay a $60 or $120 monthly participation fee for exhibition space (8 feet wide by 10 feet high by 2 inches deep) in the Art Viewing Collections and a two-week feature per year. Artists may collaborate with other selected artists to form group shows.
Three submissions will be awarded first, second, and third place awards. These artists will have participation fees waived, be featured in a solo exhibition, and receive a longer essay in the annual catalog. The initial selection period runs April 1 - May 15, 2014, with entries reviewed in order received. Rolling deadlines will continue thereafter, with submissions reviewed at the end of each month for this year and next year's cycle.
