Dia de Muertos Residency with 360 XQMX in Ajijic, Mexico

This 14-night residency includes luxury accommodations, 12 breakfasts (Monday-Saturday), studio space, and full access to pool, jacuzzi, and gym equipment. The program features 4 Dia de Muertos-focused excursions, 2 handmade craft workshops with regional artisans, multiple parades over several days in Ajijic, trick-or-treating with neighborhood kids, Dia de Muertos catrina face painting, creation of a collaborative Dia de Muertos altar, 2 art-focused off-site regional excursions, 2 down days, and 3 day passes to the Feria Maestros del Arte. One applicant will be selected to receive all items listed above.

Applicants must submit a bio, resume, and 6 images or examples of their work. The artist statement should address how the Dia de Muertos experience will translate into work created during the residency and future work in the home studio. Any artist, writer, or musician is welcome to apply. A panel of respected artists and writers from the Ajijic community will review submissions and select the chosen artist.

This is an active residency requiring ability to walk extensively. Ajijic is a charming village with wonky sidewalks and cobblestone streets, and participants will be on the go most days. Entry fee is $40.00. Submission deadline is July 28, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT. Submit 6 images of your work.
