Destination Clare County: Art Sculpture Walk

The Clare County Arts Council invites artists to submit sculpture work to be featured in the Destination Clare County: Art Sculpture Walk. Ten pieces will be selected based on artistic merit, creativity, public safety, and durability in an outdoor setting. The exhibit runs from May 7, 2024 through April 2025, with sculptures installed in May 2024.

Finalists will be notified by March 31, 2024. Awards include a $2,500 Best of Show award presented at the Opening Event, a $1,000 People's Choice award voted on by exhibit attendees, and a $1,000 honorarium for each finalist once their art is installed. New this year, local school students will select up to 3 pieces to represent their school and meet with artists at the Opening Reception. Some artwork may also be placed in nearby communities. One piece will be selected for purchase by CCAC to become a permanent community display.

Each entry must include an artist bio and two-sentence description of the sculpture, which will be linked via QR code on the display. Sculptures must range from a minimum pedestal size of 18" x 18" to a maximum of 4' x 7". Artists must provide dimensions (length, height, width, weight) and describe how the sculpture will be secured to the concrete base, including any special tools or mechanical lifts needed for installation. Entries can include up to 5 photos from different angles. All U.S. residents are eligible to apply.
