Destination Clare Art Sculpture Walk

The Clare County Arts Council welcomes all artists to apply to have their art sculpture featured as one of ten pieces in the Destination Clare Art Sculpture Walk. The selection committee will choose the top ten entries based upon artistic merit, creativity, public safety, and durability in an outdoor setting. Finalists will be notified by February 28th, with sculptures installed in May 2023. The exhibit will run from May 9, 2023 through April 2024.

Finalists are eligible for several awards and opportunities. A jury will award $2,500 for Best of Show, presented at an Opening Event the evening after installation. The People's Choice award ($1,000) will be given to the piece receiving the most votes from exhibit attendees. Additionally, finalists are eligible for a $1,000 honorarium once the art is installed. Each entry will be listed "For Sale by Artist," and the Clare County Arts Council will have the opportunity to purchase one piece for permanent display within the community.

Applications must include an artist bio, a short paragraph about the sculpture, and photos from different angles. Entries can vary in size from a minimum pedestal of 18" x 18" to a maximum of 4' x 7". Artists must provide dimensions (length, height, width, and weight) and describe how the art will be secured to the concrete base, including any mechanical lift or special tools needed for installation. All residents of the USA are eligible to apply. Minimum 3 images required, maximum 5 images per entry.
