Destination Clare: Art Sculpture Walk

The Clare County Arts Council invites artists to apply to have their art sculpture featured in the Destination Clare: Art Sculpture Walk. Ten sculptures will be selected based on artistic merit, creativity, public safety, and durability in an outdoor setting. All entries must be submitted by January 15, 2022. Finalists will be notified by February 28th, with sculptures installed on May 10, 2022. The exhibit will run from May 10, 2022 through April 2023.

Selected finalists are eligible for multiple awards and recognition. A jury will award $2,500 for Best of Show at an opening event on May 10th. The People's Choice award ($1,000) will be given to the piece receiving the most votes from exhibit attendees in January 2023 and will be featured on promotional materials for the following year. All finalists are eligible for an Honorarium ($750) paid within 30 days after installation. Each entry will be listed "For Sale by Artist," and the Clare County Arts Council will have the opportunity to purchase one piece for permanent display in the community.

Artists must submit 3-5 images showing different angles of their work, along with an artist bio and a short paragraph describing their sculpture. Sculptures can range from a minimum pedestal size of 18" x 18" to a maximum of 4' x 7". Applicants must provide dimensions (length, height, width, weight) and describe how the art will be secured to the concrete base, including any mechanical lifts or special tools needed for installation. Entry fee is $35. All residents of the USA are eligible to apply.
