About This Call
The Clare County Arts Council invites artists to apply for the 4th annual Destination Clare Art Sculpture Walk 2025. This year, applications are encouraged to consider an Irish theme for their submissions. The "Anything Irish" theme is not mandatory, but Irish-themed entries will receive preferential consideration from the selection committee. The City of Clare celebrates Saint Patrick's Day with an annual Irish Festival, marking its 50th anniversary in 2025.
The selection committee will choose the top ten entries based on artistic merit, creativity, public safety, and durability in an outdoor setting. Finalists will be notified by March 31, 2025, with sculptures installed in May 2025. The exhibit will run from May 6, 2025 through April 2026. Selected participating artists will receive an honorarium of $1,000 upon installation. A jury will award $2,500 for Best of Show at the Opening Event. The People's Choice award ($1,000) will be given to the piece receiving the most votes from exhibit attendees through March 2025.
Submissions must include a complete artist bio, artist statement, and sculpture description and story. Artists must provide complete details of dimensions, weight, and how the piece will be secured to cement bases (available base sizes: 18" x 18" to 4' x 7'). Up to 5 photos with different angles may be included. All art accepted by CCAC will be listed "For Sale by Artist" with CCAC having the opportunity to purchase at a 20% commission discount. CCAC hopes to purchase one entry to become a permanent community display. An optional RE-LOAN program allows selected artists to loan their sculptures for an additional year in 2026, with CCAC providing a $750 stipend and relocating the piece to other Clare County communities. All residents of the USA are eligible to apply.
