About This Call
Desert Dreams: Miniature Masterpieces is a Signature and Distinguished Exhibition and Sale presented by the Arizona Pastel Artists Association, running May 9 – July 12, 2026. All Signature members who received their designation on or before November 2, 2025, and all Distinguished members who received their designation on or before November 2, 2025, are eligible to enter.
Work must be original pastel painting completed in the last two years (2024–2026) and not previously shown in an APAA exhibition or show. All artwork must be completed with 85% dry pastel as a final layer; underpainting is acceptable but oil pastels are not permitted. Signature members' works are limited to 100 square inches; Distinguished members' works have no size restriction. A maximum of one painting per artist will be accepted into the exhibit. Entry fee is $35 for up to 3 artworks (non-refundable). Entries must be submitted by January 26, 2026.
All paintings must be for sale. Sales commission is Artist 60%, APAA 10%, Ironwood Gallery 30%. Accepted paintings must be identical to the image submitted for entry with no substitutions, copies, adjustments, repairs, or modifications allowed after submission. Prices on accepted paintings must match the price listed on the artist's website, gallery, or other platforms. Any painting withdrawn by the artist after the deadline will be subject to a 25% payment to APAA of the stated sales price. The artist retains copyright to their image; however, permission to reproduce the work for APAA and Ironwood Gallery for marketing, publicity, and future APAA event promotions is deemed granted with acceptance.
