About This Call
The Philadelphia Museum of Jewish Art (PMJA), located within Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Center City on North Broad Street, invites professional artists to submit artwork for exhibition consideration. The exhibition runs from March 16 to July 30, 2026. This is an open call with international eligibility. The entry fee is $25.00.
Artists are invited to submit works that visually reflect the theme of "Democracy: United We Stand" as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States. The exhibition seeks artworks that respond to the concept that maintaining democracy requires work by all citizens. A PMJA exhibition committee will jury submissions and select artworks that respond best to the theme and work in dialogue as an exhibition. Ruth Fine, former curator for the National Gallery of Art for four decades, will serve as lead curator.
The PMJA has presented contemporary art since 1975, showcasing solo and group exhibitions in a broad range of mediums by artists of diverse backgrounds. The museum's mission is to present contemporary art that illuminates the complexity, richness and universality of the Jewish experience, consistent with values of openness and inclusivity and strong community outreach.
