delecTABLE: the Fine Art of Dining - Second Biennial Juried Exhibit of Functional Ceramics

A juried exhibit dedicated to enhancing the presentation of functional ceramics, focusing on the fine art of dining, including serving vessels, place settings, platters, and dinner table décor. Proceeds from the sale of work and associated fundraising events will benefit the Art Students League of Denver, a non-profit art school founded in 1987 with a ceramics program in its twelfth year.

Eligibility is open to residents of the 50 United States and Washington DC. Artists may submit up to five digital images and five detail shots of functional ceramic pieces. Work must be innovative and original, completed within the past three years, made entirely of ceramic materials (with limited exceptions for handles or knobs), and not exceed 30 inches in any dimension or 20 pounds in weight. Entry fee is $30 (nonrefundable). Digital images must be in JPEG format, 300 DPI, 1920 x 1920 pixels, and under 3 MB in size. Juror Julia Galloway will select work based on submitted images. Artist notification begins December 9, 2013. Accepted work is due January 6-13, 2014. The exhibit runs February 4 – March 14, 2014 at Carson Gallery: An Exhibit Space of the Art Students League. All artwork must be available for sale. The League retains a 40% commission on works sold. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the League; ASLD is responsible for insurance during the exhibition. Unsold work will be returned within 30 days of the exhibit. A VIP Preview Party is scheduled for February 1, 2014, with a slide lecture by Julia Galloway on February 7 and an artists reception on February 8. A workshop by Julia Galloway will be held February 8-9, 2014.
