delecTABLE: The Fine Art of Dining: Fifth Biennial National Functional Ceramics Exhibit

A juried exhibit dedicated to the presentation of functional ceramics, focusing on the fine art of dining, to include serving vessels, place settings, platters and dinner table décor. Proceeds from the sale of work and associated events will benefit the Art Students League of Denver and its ceramics program. The exhibit will feature the work of 30-40 national artists and current ASLD ceramics faculty, with a complimentary invitational culinary-themed two-dimensional exhibit displayed in conjunction.

Eligibility is open to national artists at least 18 years of age. Artists may submit up to five digital images and five detail shots of functional pieces that could be included at a dinner table. Work must be innovative and original in design, made entirely of ceramic materials (with limited exceptions for handles, knobs, or accents), completed within the past three years, and not previously shown at delecTABLE. Size restrictions: each piece or set may not exceed 30 inches in any dimension or 20 pounds in weight. Entry fee is $30 (nonrefundable). All ceramic work entered must be for sale, with the artist receiving 60% of the sale price. Designated awards for select artworks up to $500 will be announced at the Artist Reception and paid within 30 days of the exhibition end.

Accepted work is due March 9-13, 2020 at ASLD's Gallery at 200 Grant Street, Denver, CO. The exhibit runs April 17 – May 22, 2020. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from ASLD and must include a pre-paid return shipping label. ASLD is responsible for insurance during the exhibition. Juror Liz Zlot Summerfield will review electronic images January 22-February 2, 2020, with artist notification beginning February 10, 2020. An opening reception is scheduled for April 16, 2020 from 6-9pm, and an artists reception on May 1, 2020 from 5:30-8pm. A slide lecture and demo workshop by the juror will also be offered.
