Delectable: Art of the Edible

This exhibition explores food as a subject through diverse artistic mediums and perspectives. The call invites artists to consider food in imaginative ways: What if everything in the world was edible? What if food was the basic component of every aspect of our lives? What happens when good food goes bad? The exhibition welcomes work ranging from whimsical to profound, pop art to classical and surrealism, with a focus on innovative takes on the subject of the edible. Artists are encouraged to explore vegetables, fruit, dairy, meat, fish, poultry, grains, and baked goods as subjects, drawing inspiration from artists like Dali, Arcimboldo, and Thiebaud. Printmakers, illustrators, mixed media artists, sculptors, ceramicists, painters, and photographers are all invited to participate.

Juried cash prizes are awarded: $500 for 1st Place, $300 for 2nd Place, and $200 for 3rd Place. All entrants will be notified of acceptance or declination via email during the last week of June 2023.

Entry Requirements: Submit 3-10 images of original work. Entry fee is $30.00 plus a $10.00 media fee. 2D work must be framed or on gallery wrapped canvas and hang-ready with wire or D-ring hanging systems. 3D work must be display ready and shippable. If accepted, artists are responsible for delivery or shipping costs, including return shipping. Perishable art will not be accepted. Artists working and living in the United States are eligible.
