Dear Fear

Dear Fear is a collection of inspiring messages from artists in eating disorder recovery, featuring poems, essays, and creative nonfiction written as letters to fear foods. Visual artists in 2D formats, such as photography, painting, and digital media, are invited to submit images exploring themes like recovery, fear foods, compassion, and bodily autonomy. Art does not need to depict food literally; direct, metaphorical, abstract, or indirect approaches are welcome. The project statement should explain the work’s engagement with Dear Fear’s themes. Both new and previously exhibited or published work is accepted, but AI-produced work is not.
