Davis Tech Allied Health Building - Public Art Commission

Request for qualifications from artists and/or artist teams interested in creating site-specific artwork for the Allied Health Building at Davis Technical College in Kaysville, Utah. Deadline for materials: November 9, 2018. Work sample requirements: 1-6 images. International eligibility.

The Allied Health Building is designed around the concept of "Nature" with its healing powers of nourishing mind, body and soul. The architectural concept provides holistic visual connections to nature through colors, textures, form, and views. The building design is a purposeful environment for healing body, mind and soul, with intentional connections to nature through massing, natural light, views, transparencies, wayfinding, and indoor/outdoor collaboration spaces. The landscaping concept continues the connection to nature throughout the seasons, celebrating transitional changes of spring, summer, fall, and winter.

The building will serve as a dynamic and engaging learning environment for students in Davis Tech's Allied Health Programs, which include Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, Dental Assisting, Firefighter, Health Information Technology, Home Health Aide, Medical Assistant, Nurse Assistant, Pharmacy Technician, Phlebotomy, Practical Nurse, Radiology Practical Technician, and Surgical Technology. The Allied Health Building provides tangible connections with nature as it complements views of the Wasatch Mountains and Great Salt Lake in Davis County.
