Dama Gallery Austin | Open Call 2024

Dama Gallery opened their Texas location in 2021 in the East Sixth neighborhood of Downtown Austin. The gallery is positioned in a vibrant district that hosts the SXSW Festival and is surrounded by honky-tonks, dive bars, and iconic music venues. Dama Gallery's exhibitions and publications contribute to Austin's arts community.

This open call accepts painting, printmaking, sculpture, glass, fiber, functional, digital, photography, installation, mixed media, and new genres. Entries are reviewed weekly with selections made throughout the month by the curator. Exhibition lengths vary from 1 to 3 months, with the number of pieces depending on the artist's medium and work sizes. Featured artists are invited to attend receptions, and a selected few may be invited for recorded artist interviews or panel discussions. Artists selected for exhibition will be considered for representation by Dama Gallery, which includes priority consideration for future exhibitions, professional consultation, portfolio assistance, and marketing support.

Entry fee is $35 for 3 images, with an additional $5 per image up to a maximum of 20 images. All artwork must be original and unsold, with the artist owning sole copyright. 2D artwork must be ready to hang with professional-quality frames, mats, and wiring. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance. Dama Gallery retains a 50% commission on sales. Artworks are listed on Artsy for online market visibility.
