Dairy Arts Center Call for Art Exhibitions 2023-2024

The Dairy Arts Center invites artists working in all visual art mediums to submit for consideration in their annual Call for Art Exhibitions. Selected applicants will work with Curator of Visual Arts, Drew Austin, to develop and program exhibitions to be shown between July 2023 and August 2024. Applications may be submitted for an individual artist, a group of artists/collective, or a curated exhibition of artists. Applicants are strongly encouraged to submit a cohesive body of work. Preference will be given to applicants located in Colorado, exhibitions with auxiliary programming opportunities, and/or artists identified as BIPOC or LGBTQIA+.

Each application must contain at least 3 media samples and no more than 6 media samples. A combination of video, audio, images, and other media may be submitted. The entry fee is $40 per application (non-refundable). All visual art mediums are acceptable. Works must be original; no prints or recreations will be considered unless conceptually grounded within the exhibition. Artists over 18 years of age are eligible to apply (younger artists may apply with parental permission). If the application fee is a financial barrier, contact [email protected] for assistance.

Upon selection, The Dairy will assist in producing the exhibition, including exhibition title vinyl, exhibition guide, online exhibition, online sales platform, marketing, studio visits, curatorial advising, installation and deinstallation, documentation, opening reception, and auxiliary programming opportunities. The Dairy Arts Center retains a 40% commission on artwork sold. The jury is composed of members of the Dairy's Visual Art Committee, a fifteen-member committee of artists, curators, university faculty, art collectors, and local creatives. The Dairy houses four unique gallery spaces; applicants should indicate a preference, though selected applications are not guaranteed placement in their preferred space. Note: The Dairy does not own display cases for jewelry; jewelry artists must provide their own secure display materials if accepted.
