Dairy Arts Center Annual Call for Art 2027

The Dairy Arts Center invites artists, curators, and collectives to apply for exhibition proposals across all visual art mediums. The Visual Arts Program centers innovative, socially engaged, and conceptually driven work that sparks dialogue and reflects the complexity of contemporary art. The center is especially interested in projects rooted in storytelling, cultural inquiry, community connection, playful experimentation, and multi/interdisciplinary approaches to material and form. Proposals for solo or group exhibitions that challenge assumptions, expand perspectives, and invite audiences into meaningful exchange are welcome.

Selected artists will work closely with Curator of Visual Arts, Stella Witcher to develop exhibitions presented in 2027. Applications will be reviewed by a jury composed of members from The Dairy's Visual Art Committee, including artists, curators, university faculty, art collectors, and local creatives. Upon selection, The Dairy will assist in producing the proposed exhibition, including exhibition materials, online exhibition development, installation and deinstallation, and documentation. The center will provide comprehensive marketing, an opening reception, studio visits, and curatorial advising. Works for display should be for sale but is not a requirement; The Dairy Arts Center retains a 40% commission on artwork sold. Artists are responsible for shipping costs unless otherwise arranged. Exhibition dates will be between January 2027 and January 2028.

Entry deadline is April 30, 2026. Artists will be notified of selection by May 26, 2026. The entry fee is $40.00, and applicants may submit up to 5 applications. Work samples should include a minimum of 2 and maximum of 10 total samples, which may consist of 2-10 images, 0-2 audio files, and 0-5 videos.
