CWU Art + Design Alumni Exhibit: Crossroads and Connections III

The Sarah Spurgeon Gallery at Central Washington University will host Crossroads and Connections III, a juried exhibition featuring artwork by Department of Art + Design alumni who graduated between 1996 and 2010. Alumni who received undergraduate and graduate degrees during that timeframe are eligible to enter. The exhibition is open to submissions in all media, including graphic design and illustration, 2-dimensional studio art, 3-dimensional studio art, and video. Artwork must have been completed during the past five years (since 2020) but does not need to follow a particular theme. A panel of three alumni jurors—Lana Robinson (BFA Graphic Design, 2018), Lisa Soranaka (BFA Studio Art/Ceramics, 2009), and Jenny Walton (BFA Studio Art/Painting, 2001)—will select the artwork for inclusion.

Entries must be submitted online by January 31, 2026. Free entry is available for up to four submissions. A total of four media files can be submitted, and a short questionnaire to confirm eligibility is required. Results of the jurying will be sent by email on or before February 26, 2026. All shipped work must arrive by March 23, 2026, or hand-delivered work may be brought March 19-20, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. All shipping costs and insurance are the responsibility of the artist. The Gallery requests that artists use UPS or FedEx for shipping and provide reusable shipping materials with a pre-paid return-shipping label. No freight shipments are accepted.

The purpose of this exhibit is to showcase and celebrate the accomplishments of CWU Art + Design alumni and invite alumni to reconnect with each other and the Department of Art + Design faculty and staff. Special events include an opening reception and alumni panel talk on April 9 (panel 4-5 p.m., reception 5-7 p.m.), the exhibit on view April 9 through May 2, and a closing event, the annual Art + Design Alumni Spring Fest, on May 2 (3-6 p.m.). Insurance coverage will be provided while works are on the gallery premises. The Gallery does not charge commission or process sales. Hand-delivered work may be picked up May 2 (6-7 p.m.) or May 4 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.).
