CUT/FOLD/PRESS: National Paper Arts Exhibition

CUT/FOLD/PRESS is a national paper arts exhibition at Craft Alliance in St. Louis. The exhibition embraces paper as a primary artistic material and celebrates the transformational quality of paper art. Artists are invited to explore and submit work in forms including books, sculpture, sheet, cut paper, folded paper, woven paper, glued paper, drawings, paintings, pastels, printmaking, photographs, paper sculpture, 3D work, bound books, collage, video, and installation. The exhibition is juried by Buzz Spector, an artist, writer, and emeritus professor of art at Washington University in St. Louis.

Eligibility is open to artists who use paper as their primary medium or create artworks made on, of, or about paper. Current Craft Alliance staff or board members are ineligible. Applicants must submit high-resolution images of 3-5 pieces, a PDF containing a bio, CV, and artist statement. The entry fee is $30, with an additional $10 for each piece beyond the first three. Exhibition dates are March 14 - April 25, 2025. Applicants will be notified by January 29, 2025, and work must be delivered by February 28, 2025. All submitted work should be available for sale. Craft Alliance takes a 50% commission on sales, with unsold artwork returned to artists by May 12, 2025. Artists are responsible for shipping works to Craft Alliance and insuring them for full value. Craft Alliance will pay for return shipping.
