About This Call
Gallery One Visual Arts Center announces their second national juried exhibition titled Cut It Out, a juried exhibition of collage work. The exhibition runs March 4-26, 2016, in the Main and Mezzanine Galleries of Gallery One in downtown Ellensburg. Entries will be juried by Deborah Faye Lawrence, and opportunities for lectures, workshops, and special events will be offered to chosen artists. $1000 in awards will be distributed by the juror and an exhibition catalog will be created.
Collage work is defined as works composed by pasting various materials such as newspaper clippings, repurposed flat artworks, and tickets on a single surface. 3D works and digital arts will be accepted. Artwork cannot exceed 60" in any direction, and assemblage is not eligible. Artists may submit a maximum of 6 artwork entries. Entry fee is $20 for the first entry and $10 for each additional entry, plus a $10 media fee.
Awards include: $400 for Most Innovative Artwork, $250 for Best Traditional Collage, $250 for Best Non-Traditional Collage, and $100 for Award of Merit. All exhibiting artists receive a printed catalog and a PDF version emailed to each applicant. The exhibition is open to all artists 18 years and older residing in the USA. All work must have been completed within the last three years, be originals only (no reproductions), and cannot be completed under the direction of instructors. Accepted artwork must be for sale with a 40% Gallery commission. Notifications will be sent February 10, 2016. Artists are responsible for round-trip shipping and insurance of artworks. Gallery One will insure artworks for their retail value while on the premises.
