Current Works 2017

Current Works 2017 is the Kansas City Society for Contemporary Photography's third annual juried member photography exhibition presented in partnership with the Kansas City Artists Coalition. The exhibition runs October 13 - November 10, 2017 at the Kansas City Artists Coalition's Mallin and Jacqueline B. Charno Galleries, 201 Wyandotte Street, Kansas City, MO 64105.

Artists may submit up to 5 images for a $70 entry fee. KCSCP members receive a 50% discount; non-members pay $70 which includes a one-year membership. All works must have been produced between September 2015 and the current date. Original photography in all mediums is accepted: Digital, Film, Alternative Processes, Black and White or Color. Subject matter is open. No pornographic or defamatory images. Artists will be notified of acceptance beginning September 13. An opening reception will be held October 13, 6-8 p.m.

Accepted works must have maximum final outside dimensions of 40 inches and be ready to hang with name, medium, and price on the back. Framed pieces should use white museum mats and black frames with wiring and hanging hardware. Works are expected to be for sale; KCAC retains 30% of the sale price. Artists are responsible for shipping costs to and from the gallery. Accepted works must be delivered September 27-30 (shipped prepaid) or hand-delivered September 30, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Hand-delivered works must be picked up November 11, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. The Kansas City Artists Coalition provides insurance for the exhibition; artists are responsible for insurance during shipment. Keith Davis, Senior Curator of Photography at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art, will judge the exhibition.
