About This Call
The School of Art at Kent State University is accepting proposals for the 2025-26 Curlee Raven Holton & Raven Fine Art Editions Distinguished Art Fellowship. This fellowship brings globally recognized leaders in art and the academy to Kent State University School of Art to work with students as teachers, mentors, and critics. Fellows will give public lectures, exhibit artwork or curate an exhibit, teach workshops, and participate in studio visits and critiques. Fellows' work will be displayed in one of the School of Art Galleries during or prior to their visit.
Fellows are selected by the Gallery Committee of the School of Art through a nomination and proposal review process. Priority is given to underrepresented artists as well as those artists of historical importance to the school and its mission. The fellowship is open to any artist working in any media.
Fellows receive a $5,000 honorarium, up to $2,000 to create an edition work of art, and all expenses paid for an up to three-week visit/residency to give a public lecture, meet with students, and advance their own practice at Kent State University School of Art. Exhibition of work in one of the School of Art Galleries is included. Application requirements include a one-page exhibition proposal outlining alignment with the fellowship's mission, 10-15 images of work for the proposed exhibition (curators and art historians may submit documentation of artists they would like to work with and/or previous curatorial projects), and a 2-page CV. Entry deadline is March 1, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MST.
